RESUMO

AR technology allows users to interact with virtual objects in real-world settings. Immersive AR experiences can enhance creativity and possibilities. Learners can explore real-life situations in a safe, controlled environment, understand abstract concepts and solve problems. This study investigates whether AR-codes affect boxing beginners' performance in some fundamental defensive techniques. An experimental and control group were created to implement a quasi-experimental design. By using the ASSURE instructional design model, AR technology was incorporated into the educational program and delivered in flipped classroom method to the experimental group. Comparatively, the control group is taught a program using a teacher's command style. A post-measurement of defensive boxing skills was conducted for both groups. Participants were 60 boxing beginners aged 12 to 14 who had enrolled in Port Fouad Sports Club's 2023/2024 training season in Port Said, Egypt. Randomly, participants were divided into control and experimental groups. They were homogenized and equivalent in terms of age, height, weight, IQ, physical fitness, and skill level. According to the study results, the experimental group performed better in post-measurements than the control group. The AR Codes technology had a large effect size on the learning of boxing defensive skills under study. Consequently, it is necessary to use AR Codes technology as an educational resource to enhance the learning process, integrate it with active learning strategies, and use it to teach defensive boxing skills and apply them to offensive and counterattack skills, thereby improving the learning process.

RESUMO

The use of 3D Hologram Technology (3DHT) in teaching and learning has many advantages, such as attracting students' attention, reducing cognitive load and self-effort, and improving spatial awareness. In addition, a number of studies have confirmed that the reciprocal teaching style is effective in teaching motor skills. Thus, the current study aimed to investigate the effectiveness of reciprocal style when combined with 3DHT in learning some fundamental boxing skills. A quasi-experimental design was used by creating two experimental and control groups. For the experimental group, the reciprocal style is combined with 3DHT to teach some fundamental boxing skills. In contrast, the control group is taught a program based on a teacher command style. Pretest-posttest designs were made for the two groups. The sample consisted of 40 boxing beginners aged 12 to 14 who were enrolled in the 2022/2023 training season at Port Fouad Sports Club in Port Said, Egypt. The participants were randomly divided into two experimental and control groups. There were homogenized based on age, height, weight, IQ, physical fitness, and skill level. The results showed the experimental group achieved a higher skill level due to the combination of 3DHT and a reciprocal style in compared to the control group, which relied solely on the teacher's command style,. Due to this, it is imperative to utilize hologram technology as a pedagogical resource to enhance the learning process and combine it with teaching strategies that support active learning.

RESUMO

The rapid spread of COVID-19 has forced schools and universities to close. Globally, education systems face unprecedented challenges, and learning management systems (LMS) are the only solution. The current study aimed to investigate the effectiveness of a Blackboard collaborative breakout group on the cognitive achievement of physical education teaching styles. The quasi-experimental method involved creating two groups: one experimental and one control, with the experimental group using Blackboard collaborative breakout groups and the control group relying exclusively on online lectures and continuing with the same method without breakout groups. The study sample consisted of 40 students who were randomly assigned and divided equally into the two groups. Based on the research sample, homogeneity within the group and equivalence between groups in terms of age, Grade Point Average (GPA), and high intelligence test (IQ) were evaluated. The results showed that the experimental group's cognitive achievement was superior to that of the control group. Therefore, the design of the learning process enhances student collaboration, participation, and reinforcement. Additionally, the experimental group retained the learning outcomes for a month after the cessation of all teaching and learning processes. To conclude, giving a lecture using webinar tools such as Blackboard Collaborate Ultra does not necessarily mean achieving the intended educational goals. As a result, it is necessary to look for ways to integrate active learning strategies, such as collaborative learning, to enhance student involvement in distance learning.

RESUMO

Motivating children to lead a healthy and active lifestyle is a family mission and a responsibility shared by society. This study is important in developing the family's role in promoting children's active lifestyle. This study aims to develop the role of the family in promoting an active lifestyle for children in light of the Saudi vision 2030. The sample included 405 parents who filled out an online survey about their children aged 3-12 years. The results show families' lack of interest in applying the WHO standards and the guidelines of the Saudi Ministry of Health regarding children's regular daily physical activity. The families are reluctant to involve children in sports clubs. The parents desire to employ crews that enhance the movement and recreational activities of children in shopping centers and parks. The results also show that the presence of the father and mother together inside the house and their educational level have an impact on the effectiveness of the positive reinforcement of the active lifestyle of the children. To promote an active lifestyle for children, there is a need to determine why some families are hesitant to enroll their children in sports clubs. Additionally, there is a need to develop media and awareness campaigns for families in order to achieve the desired goals of developing an active lifestyle for children, which are approved by the WHO and Saudi Ministry of Health standards and are consistent with families' low educational levels.

RESUMO

Objective: This study aims to determine the role of the family in promoting an active and healthy lifestyle for children aged 3-12 years during the COVID-19 pandemic in the Qassim region in light of Saudi Arabia's Vision 2030 program. Background: This study is important in defining the role of the family in promoting an active lifestyle for children during the COVID-19 pandemic because the family is primarily responsible for promoting a healthy lifestyle for children. Method: We evaluated responses of 320 parents completing an online survey about their children's physical health during the pandemic. Results: The results showed a low level of children's physical activity and excessive use of electronic devices. Late bedtimes were evident and defined as midnight or later. As well, however, families knew the necessary information about COVID-19 and maintained the children's preventive measures. The families were aware of the child's consumption of a healthy diet. They helped the child complete studies through distance education. The families supported the child's psychological well-being and helped them develop some entertainment plans. Conclusions: Although the family plays an important role in promoting the active and healthy lifestyle of the child, there is still a need for more awareness regarding the child's practice of physical activity, healthy sleep habits, and correct use of electronic devices. Implications: Programs should be established to increase family awareness of the guidelines of the World Health Organization and the Saudi Ministry of Health regarding the child's physical activity, sleep habits, and the use of electronic devices.
